How it works

Step 1: Choose your storage plan and version of the Backup247 backup software

Step 2: Sign up

Step 3: Download the Backup247 Software from the link in you email confirmation sent from Backup247

Step 4: Install Backup247 software onto you PC/Mac/Server

Step 5: Select the data you want to backup

Step 6: Select the frequency of your backup (Hourly, daily, weekly, monthly or build a custom schedule), note the Standard version only allows for a single scheduled daily backup per day, and unlimited manual backups.

Step 7: Backup begins; data is compressed & encrypted locally before leaving you PC/Mac or Server.

Step 8: Your data is transferred via the Internet to the Backup247 servers in a compressed and encrypted format.

Step 9: Once you data has reached the Backup247 Primary server, it is automatically then backed up to our replication servers located more than 500km away.

Step 10. Backup complete and scheduled backups will take automatically as scheduled.

Incremental Backup

Day 1: First backup performed, the first backup is a full backup of 500GB to the Server

Day 2: This is the first incremental backup and the backup software only backs up the new or modified files. In this backup an additional 5GB is backed up to make a total of 505GB stored on the backup server.

Day 3: Again only new and modified files are backed up; another 5GB brings the total stored backup of 510GB

Day 4: Again only new and modified files, so each backup after the first full backup will only backup new or modified files. Day 4 has a stored backup of 515GB.
